Back in 2016, the Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack, NY added a wave of new entertainment and stores. We’ve updated this post with what’s changed — including the closure of 5 Wits — so you know what to expect on your next visit.
5 Wits at Palisades Center: Closed
In 2016, the Palisades Center added 5 Wits — an immersive adventure experience similar to an escape room, with computer-controlled special effects and interactive puzzles. Unfortunately, 5 Wits closed its Palisades Center location during the COVID-19 pandemic and did not reopen. The company shuttered most of its locations in 2020.
If you’re looking for entertainment at Palisades Center today, the mall still has strong options including K1 Speed (indoor go-kart racing) and a large AMC movie theater complex. See the Palisades Center Mall page for the latest.
Stores That Opened in 2016
Several stores joined the Palisades Center directory in 2016:
- Adidas — shoes, sportswear, and the latest athletic collections.
- Zara — the popular Spanish fashion brand at the first floor, between JCPenney and H&M. Still a strong anchor store today.
- Texas de Brazil — the Brazilian-Texan steakhouse fusion, a popular dining destination at the mall.
- Verizon — mobile phones, plans, and accessories.
- Autobahn Indoor Speedway — indoor go-kart racing at the second level, a fun option for families and groups.
- It’Sugar — the candy retailer opened in 2016. Note that It’Sugar has closed locations at several malls nationwide; verify current status before visiting.

The Palisades Center remains one of the largest malls in the New York metro area, with entertainment, dining, and retail spread across four levels. It’s located just across the New York state border in West Nyack and is a popular destination for NJ shoppers.
