Dick’s House of Sport is coming to Cherry Hill Mall in 2026 — a 120,000 square foot flagship-format concept that includes an outdoor running track, climbing wall, golf simulators, and a multi-sport cage. It’s one of the most ambitious retail openings South Jersey has seen in years, and it firmly positions Cherry Hill Mall as a sport-and-lifestyle destination, not just a shopping center.
What Is Dick’s House of Sport?
Dick’s House of Sport is the flagship store concept from Dick’s Sporting Goods — designed to blur the line between retail and live sporting experience. A standard Dick’s Sporting Goods store is typically 50,000–70,000 square feet. House of Sport runs more than twice that, and the extra space goes toward immersive, interactive features you don’t find in a typical sporting goods store.
Key features at the Cherry Hill location will include an outdoor running track where customers can test shoes before buying, a rock climbing wall, golf simulators for club-fitting and practice, and a multi-sport cage for baseball and softball batting. Additionally, the store will feature expanded footwear, apparel, and equipment departments designed around specific sports categories.
The format has been successful in other markets. Dick’s opened its first House of Sport in Victor, NY in 2021, and has since expanded the concept to a select group of high-traffic, high-income trade areas. Cherry Hill fits that profile exactly.
Making Room: The Office Building Demolition
To accommodate the 120,000 square foot footprint, Cherry Hill Mall demolished an adjacent office building in summer 2025. That kind of commitment — physically demolishing existing infrastructure to make room for a new tenant — speaks to the confidence both the mall ownership and Dick’s have in the format’s long-term performance.
The new building will connect to the mall, giving shoppers a seamless transition between the House of Sport and the rest of Cherry Hill’s 160+ stores. Furthermore, the outdoor track and some of the sport-specific features will face outward, giving the mall a more dynamic, active presence from the street.

Cherry Hill Mall has had a strong run of new arrivals in 2025 — Lacoste, Alo Yoga, Columbia Sportswear, Coach, Pop Mart, and Offline by Aerie all opened within the past year. lululemon relocated to a larger space.
